The SULPHUR CRESTED COCKATOO is well known throughout eastern and northern Australia          It raises it's distinctive sulphur-yellow crest when it gets excited or alarmed.

I have a cockatoo that loves to be scratched on the back of the head. It also talks but is difficult to understand. Cockatoo's make a loud screeching sound which I can only describe as being similar to a Pteradactyl
